Faculty Search
The Ohio State University Department of Women's Studies invites applications and nominations for a full-time tenure-track position, open rank, in feminist visual media studies. Specializations of interest to us include film, television, advertising, digital images (the internet and WWW), etc. We are looking for a candidate whose work crosses boundaries of gender, race, ethnicity, sexualities, and/or transnational issues and who demonstrates commitment to interdisciplinary research and teaching in Women's Studies and in our graduate and undergraduate programs.The Women's Studies Department offers an undergraduate major and minor, M.A., Ph.D., and a graduate minor. The successful applicant will present a record of scholarship and teaching that is consistent with tenure-track work at a research university. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in Women's and/or Gender Studies. The appointment will begin in fall 2009.

Congratulations to Women's Studies Major Jessica Ziegenfuss!
Women Studies major Jessica Ziegenfuss was one of the two recipients on the OSU campus to receive the Library?s Undergraduate Research Prize this year. Ms. Ziegenfuss was granted this coveted award for her research essay entitled "The Grande Odalisque and Feminist Psychoanalysis: Subversive Re-Interpretation of an Image" which was originally written for Professor Guisela Latorre's class WS 375, Women and Visual Culture. She worked closely with Professor Latorre and Women's Studies Librarian Cynthia Preston to develop her project. Ms. Ziegenfuss was publicly honored for her excellence in research during a special luncheon at the Faculty Club during the 2008 Spring Quarter.New Women's Studies Graduate Minor

Triota also works to enhance the experience of students in Women's Studies as well as recognizing their academic achievements.

Women's Studies Film Forum
Hey Women's Studies Majors and Minors!If you have taken Women's Studies 317, 375, or any other WS visual culture course, you are eligible to join the Women's Studies Film Forum.
Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors are especially encouraged to apply as we are currently looking to fill positions that will be open Spring Quarter when most of our seniors graduate.
The forum meets the second Thursday of every month (at 6:30pm unless otherwise noted) to watch a film and discuss it. What could be more fun than that?!
If you are interested, please fill out a membership form located in the Department of Women's Studies in room 286 in University Hall, and leave it in the mailbox labeled "Film Club".
